07上海歌词完整版
Af ter China was
defeated in the First
Opium War in 1842, five
treaty ports were opened up to foreign trade.
One of these was Shanghai, which quickly
grew in size and wealth, becoming the most
prosperous city in East Asia by the 1930s.
Today, Shanghai is a bustling financial
hub of 23 million people, drawing people from
all over China seeking a better life, as well as
travelers who are attracted by its bright lights
and colonial charms.
For a sense of Shanghai’s grandeur, both
historic and contemporary, a stroll down the
Bund is in order, especially at night. Next to
the river walk stand the stately buildings
that housed foreign-owned banks and
trading companies back in Shanghai’s colonial
heyday. And just across the Huangpu River
is the city’s famous Pudong skyline, which
boasts landmarks like the futuristic
Oriental Pearl Tower and the new Shanghai
Tower, a 632 m super skyscraper that is currently
the world’s second tallest building.
After seeing Shanghai ’s future, get
another glimpse at its past in the Old City,
where you can visit the City God Temple
and Yuyuan Garden, both built during the
Ming dynasty. And i f you want to go
even further back, the Shanghai Museum
on nearby People’s Square has the largest
collection of ancient bronzes in China.
From there, it’s not far to Jing’an Temple, a
Buddhist shrine that dates back to 247 AD.
And now it’s time for shopping—Jing’an
Temple lies right next to Nanjing Road, the
longest shopping street in the world. Or head
over to the former French Concession
to shop at the modern malls of Xujiahui or
the fashionable boutiques of Huaihai Road.
In sum, Shanghai has so much to offer the
visitor, from historic temples to upscale
shopping. Whatever you’re looking for, old or
new, Shanghai is sure to have it!
