Now that I’m a Dad, I wonder what my child will say about me.
I’m thinking of my Mom and Dad and how they use to be?
He’s my Dad who stood so tall looking down to see,
A little boy who hugged his arms around his Daddy’s knee
Dad, I thank you for picking me up when I fell.
And I’m proud of all the stories I will tell,
Of our talks and walks we had.
Dad, you patiently listened to my childish tales unfurl,
And never laughed at me when I was a fool with girls.
Thank You Dad.
Now that I’m a Dad, I wonder what my child will say about me.
I’m thinking of my Mom and Dad and how they use to be?
She’s my Mom with joy she will never hide.
And like my Mom I’m proud and hope my child will have this pride.
Mom, I thank you for picking me up when I fell.
And I’m proud of all the stories I will tell,
Of where your hugs came from.
Mom, you patiently listened to my childish fibs I told,
And taught me right from wrong and be kind and never bold.
Thank you Mom.
Now that I’m a Dad, I wonder what my child will say about me.
