Wady’s Epic Adventure to Save Home歌词完整版
Hi I'm Wady!
And this is my epic adventure story.
You and me, we are kind of the same.
Please find time to read what I have to say.
You seem like a good creature.
At the end of the story,
I hope you find it in your heart,
to help our community.
Here is where I live.
There’s tatay, nanay, kuya, ate,
lolo, lola, tita, tito,
and the rest of us swimming free.
Tatay told me once that our great, great,
great ancestors were here
long before these creatures had
colorful lights, enormous and weird
things they build around the water.
Tatay said we were here
before humans joined us in the water
to catch fish.
They also probably like to eat fish.
They do take quite a lot of it though.
Me, I like eating fish.
How about you,
do you eat fish?
Creatures here call this place
the Philippines.
And ours here
they call it Visayas.
They have names for what you see.
This here is the Guimaras Strait.
If you’d stretch your neck further,
that’s Guimaras island.
Over here is Negros Occidental.
That over there is the Bago river.
I hear that side’s already a city,
also called Bago.
And this side is a town
called Pulupandan.
Humans call us lumba-lumba.
Sometimes we see humans
with weird contraptions in their eyes
looking at us.
They bring a lot of their toys with them
as they ride these floating
swimming things they call boats.
They are good creatures.
We hear them tell those who fish
to take extra care of us
and the place we live.
Humans call us Irrawaddy dolphins.
They say they named us after a river
in a place called Myanmar.
Maybe because there’s lots of us there
unlike where I am now.
We also hear stories
that there are those like us
in a place called Malampaya.
I am quite not sure
how far that is from here though.
If you ask me where exactly here do I live,
well
look everywhere
from that stretch beyond
to that stretch faraway.
The Creator made dolphins like us
swim far and wide.
Like you, we breathe above the water.
But unlike you,
we can hold our breath
for so very, very, very long time.
Like you,
we have families and friends too.
I like being with them a lot.
We can also hear far and wide.
We actually hear humans swimming into our home
at odd hours of the night to catch fish.
We also hear them when they’re tired,
resting, snoring in the boats.
We also can feel a lot.
We say ouch, or cry when we feel pain.
But you can’t see these tears
with all that water.
You might also think we’re always happy.
Maybe because we look cute
and beautiful peeping out of the water.
Sometimes we are happy.
But these days, we mostly are not.
Tatay said we were many
before I came into being.
Now,
you can just count us with fingers
from both of your hands.
Sometimes
I wish I have hands and feet too.
So I can go walk the land
and talk to those who lead humans.
Lolo said
that ever since humans built these humongous
whatever they are,
we started dying.
The fish too,
they say,
became fewer with it.
We heard that in other places,
our cousins
who have longer snouts
are in cages.
In other places
they’re being hunted and killed.
Here in our place,
there’s pollution,
we get hit by boats sometimes,
we get trapped in the fishermen’s gear,
and that bridge they say
is going to destroy our home.
But not all humans
are like those humans.
There are those that really care for us.
We do hope there are more who care,
more than those humans
who make us jump
in small pools and over hoops.
Our story’s not finished.
We hope it never will be.
I know you have the heart to understand,
since you have heard my story
from start to finish.
And please if you can.
Share our story to lots
and lots of humans.
So that they may understand how we live
so we can swim together in this world
and have an epic adventure,
you and me.
Chitchat more soon.
