Welcome to this Guided Meditation for Restful Sleep from Karma Sounds.
As we begin this meditation, let's take a moment to set an intention for restful and rejuvenating sleep. Close your eyes and take a deep breath in, filling your lungs with fresh air, and exhale slowly, letting go of any tension in your body.
Now, let's focus on the present moment. Allow any thoughts or worries to simply pass by like clouds in the sky, without attaching any meaning to them.
Visualise yourself in a peaceful and comfortable space, where you feel safe and secure. This can be a place from your past or present, or simply an imagined space.
Imagine a gentle breeze blowing, and the sound of the waves lapping gently on the shore. As you focus on your breath, let your body begin to relax more and more each time that you exhale.
Now, let's do a full scan of our body. Starting from the top of your head -we’ll visualise each part of your body, relaxing, releasing any tension or stress.
Let’s move down to your forehead, relaxing any creases or wrinkles. Relax your eyes and jaw, and let your tongue fall gently away from the roof of your mouth.
Feel the relaxation spread down your neck and shoulders, releasing any tightness or pain.
Continue to move down the body, relaxing your arms, relaxing your hands, and continue to move and relax your chest;and now the stomach. Continue to relax your hips and legs, and lastly, let go, and relax your feet.
As you sink deeper and deeper into relaxation, repeat the phrase "I am calm, I am relaxed, I am at peace”.
Now, let's focus on the breath again. As you inhale, imagine taking in clean, fresh air, and as you exhale, imagine releasing any tension, worries or stress. Continue to breathe deeply, feeling more and more relaxed with each breath. If any thoughts or worries arise, simply acknowledge them and let them go, returning your focus to the breath.
Now, as you lie in this relaxed state, visualise yourself drifting off into a deep and restful sleep. Imagine yourself waking up in the morning knowing that you feel refreshed, rejuvenated, and energised for the day ahead.
When you feel the time is right, take one more deep breath in and slowly exhale, bringing your awareness back to the present moment.
Open your eyes and take a moment to enjoy the feeling of calm and relaxation that you have created for yourself. And remember, that you can return to this peaceful state whenever you need it.
