The Hare and The Tortoise
Once upon a time, in a forest, a hare was boasting about his speed to the other animals.
"I'm the fastest animal in the forest! No one can beat me!" he said proudly.
The tortoise, tired of the hare's arrogance, approached him slowly.
"Hare, I challenge you to a race. Let's see who is truly the fastest," said the tortoise.
The hare laughed loudly.
"You must be joking, Tortoise. But sure, let's race. It'll be fun to watch you try," he said.
The other animals gathered to watch the race, curious to see the outcome.
"On your marks, get set, go!" said the fox, starting the race.
The hare dashed off quickly, leaving the tortoise far behind.
"This is too easy. I think I'll take a nap."
He found a comfortable spot under a tree and fell asleep.
Meanwhile, the tortoise kept moving, slow but steady.
"I may be slow, but I won't stop. Slow and steady wins the race," the tortoise said to himself.
The other animals watched in amazement as the tortoise continued on his way.
"Look at Tortoise! He hasn't stopped once!" said the deer.
As the tortoise neared the finish line, the hare woke up.
"Oh no! I slept too long!" the hare exclaimed.
He ran as fast as he could towards the finish line.
But it was too late. The tortoise had already crossed the finish line.
The animals cheered loudly for the tortoise.
"Hooray for Tortoise! He won the race!" they shouted.
The hare, humbled, approached the tortoise.
"Congratulations, Tortoise. You showed me that slow and steady really does win the race,"
The tortoise smiled and nodded.
"Thank you, Hare. Remember, it's not about how fast you are, but how steady you move towards your goal."
And so, the hare and the tortoise became good friends, each respecting the other's strengths.
